My Age Zimbabwe Trust scoops award

My Age Zimbabwe Trust has scored another yet another one before the year ends to add to the existing tally of success stories. The organization is ecstatic after scooping an award for the Project Best Practice Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Category during the recently held Zimbabwe Southern African Development Committee (SADC) Protocol at Work Summit that was held in Harare.
The summit which was dubbed 50/50 by 2030! Empower women, End Violence served as a curtain raiser to the to the Sixteen Days of Activism on Gender Violence that runs from the 25th of November (international Day of No Violence Against Women) to the 10th of December (Human Rights Day) annually.
With the scope of work that My Age Zimbabwe Trust focuses on, girl and women empowerment stands to be one key priority area attributed to the Girls Choose Project that seeks to empower young women with comprehensive knowledge on how to prevent themselves from HIV, Sexually Transmitted Infections and unintended pregnancies.
Also under the Girls Choose tagline the organization seeks to ensure safe spaces are created for the young women to make informed decisions and reach their full potential.
During the awards My Age Zimbabwe joined more than 161 entries fielded in 12 categories and emerged the best practice for sexual and reproductive rights category.
The awards were organized by Gender Links, the Women in Local Government Forum and the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ) and brought together over 200 participants from 40 councils in all ten provinces of the country, with the support of the Swedish Embassy in Zimbabwe.
